Changes coming to TNS
Well since there are rumors flying about and these rumors are interestingly accurate, I won't drop the L word.
First I'd like to be the first to welcome back an old friend to the community. Suri is returning to help manage things here at TNS.
Second, I am announcing my formal retirement from online gaming community management. I've been doing this kind of stuff for about 5 years now. I've had very little breaks in the past 5 years from this life and it has taken its toll on me. Both on a mental level and a personal one. While I cannot deny these 5 years have been a great experience for me, I think its time for me to move on to a new stage in life. I have a few opertunities that I can work with now and I am not sure where I want to go from here. I, however, will not be a ghost nor will it be hard to reach me. I'll still be playing games when I can and I will help any time I am asked.
Third, theres been alot of discussion that TNS is "dying" I don't see it that way. We've hit a lul of activity. Alot of us that has been around for a while are kinda burnt out. Its funny to see people complain so much about so little yet do very little about it. One of my last departing things will be a challenge to all who are in TNS from here on out. You may think that you cannot do anything to help this community, you are wrong. From member all the way up to owner, you have the power to help TNS out at every stage. It may not be what you want it to be, but remember we all began this "online life" the same way....playing on a simple server...with good friends. That is what this place is all about, not ranks or job titles. Fuck that shit. Its about getting your asses on the servers and just playing the games that brought you here in the first place. Its that simple. You think this community is dying? You want to prove the doubters wrong? DO that ONE simple thing, and do it often. You'll be surprised to find that not only is this community not dying, it is thriving.
I've seen this, and many other communities go through worse. And its funny one of TNS's greatest nay-sayers, recently told me that he was proud of what we have done. He said we wouldn't last 3 months, we lasted 3 fucking years. He was jealous of what we accomplished. I challenge each and every one of you, to make TNS last another 3 years.
