If you must ban for all instances of the n-word, even if it's not directed at anyone or used in a racist context, then at least reduce said ban for first offenses or warn them first. A fair warning is a fair warning, after words if they say something racist again, it's an extremely well deserved ban.
A week for saying something that was an accident is just like, to me, banning a week for 1 accidental RDM. Wouldn't you think that was ridiculous?
I know you all are trying to cater to everyone's delicate sensibilities, which I think is a severe problem in this world right now, but banning for something that is clearly not racist is a little odd to me.
I don't think I'm alone in how I think about this ban policy, but if I am, feel free to let me know.
I urge you to rethink your banning policy on racism.
