A major reason servers die is because you have the instant gratification type of player base. (If the server isn't full already, nobody is gonna join.) Servers believe it or not, need people. If you are one of those people sitting there saying " I really love this server but nobody is ever on so I don't go on." and not going on the server, then it's your own fault. If that still doesn't work, then try to convince people. If you have then exhausted all of these options, which I know some people may have, then you have reached the only conclusion left... that the server just isn't actually that fun.
