RP Laws

This is an rp server so you must use common sense when rping. Avoiding rp (suicide/job switch when being mugged are examples) or "fail" rp (pets raiding/hobos owning houses are examples) is NOT allowed.
Drugs are illegal unless the mayor says otherwise.
All guns are legal unless the mayor wants to restrict guns above pistol.
Money printers are illegal. Mayor cannot change this law.
Breaking and entering is illegal. Mayor cannot change this law.
Killing is illegal. (even for hitman). Mayor cannot change this law.


Server Rules

General

No racism or sexism.
No RDMing (Killing or harming someone for no-reason).
No prop killing, surfing/flying/throwing, or blocking.
Do not carry or throw props around the map.
Keypads and buttons must be within 2 feet of the door they work for, and may not be hidden.
No random demoting, you must have a valid reason to demote someone.
No metagaming, an example of this would be arresting someone because of what they said in OOC (Out of Character) chat.
Follow the New Life Rule. When you die, you forget everything about your previous life. You cannot go to where you died for atleast 2 minutes.
NLR does not apply if you have been blatantly RDMed.
When you are raiding someone you cannot kill them if they come back after their NLR time is up unless they shoot at you first.
Unless you're a hobo, you cannot build anything but decorations for your store outside or a small "buggy" as a spy for you to pull around.
Do not destroy or steal public Microwaves and Gun Labs.
If someone is Admin or Super Admin job, they are not rping, and they are OOC. Do not include them in roleplay.
Only Godfather, Mafia, Gangster Leader, and Gangsters are permitted to mug/rob.
The max amount one can mug from another person is $750.
You cannot mug hobos or players that are AFK.
Only the police may intervene with regards to mugging, robbing, and murder.
The Pawn shop can only be used by merchants for selling their goods.
Spies may not place their printers or props on the roof of a building.
Only the Mafia and Gangsters may shoot before being shot at.
Only the Mafia, Gangsters, or Hitmen may kill the mayor.

Murdering someone for items they are carrying around (printers, guns, etc) is mugging. This means that unless you are mafia/gang, this is not allowed.
You may not use props to get to roofs or other buildings even if you leave the props there for others to use. This is still prop climbing.
Unless you are the owner/co-owner of a property or a bodyguard of the owner, you are not permitted to defend it from raids, regardless of if you're a "friend."
If someone is being shot at, you may only help defend them if you are part of their gang. Do not just go murder someone that killed your friend.
Printers are for printing money, not blowing down props.
Do not nocollide into your base, you have keypads for a reason.
You will be kicked if you are AFK for too long to allow room for active players.
You may not block off public areas such as the hotel roof. These areas are usually marked by Non-Ownable doors.
Do not troll. This includes arguing with an admin.
Do not exploit hidden bugs/mechanics. Report them immediately.
You may not kill, mug, or raid the mayor before he has made laws that you disagree with.
Being wanted does not allow you to go at war with the CP. Only kill those that attempt to arrest/shoot you.
You may not raid somebody while they are still building their base.
When starting a war with another group, the leaders both must agree, and the war ends when one side gives up.
Above all, use common sense. If you have to think about whether something is right or wrong, it is probably wrong.


Chat

Do not spam in chat or with your mic. We have teamspeak if you wish to play music.
Do not disrespect other players or Admins.
Keep RP out of OOC (obviously).
Only use advert for advertising, not OCC.


Civil Protection Rules

Do not random arrest, you must have a valid reason to arrest someone.
Do not perform random searches, you must have a valid reason to obtain a search warrant.
First and foremost, suspicion is not a valid reason for any of these actions.
Do not perform random weapon checks on people.
Civil Protection can be corrupt but if they're caught being corrupt, anyone may demote them.
A corrupt officer can kill the mayor, however, they must have a valid RP reason.
A corrupt officer can not randomly raid or arrest. However, with a valid RP reason (such as being paid by the Mafia), they can arrest a person or raid.
Police units can build -ONE- checkpoint at a road location of their chosing. It can not be blocked by a fading door or any obstruction other than a player.
Police units can construct defensive cover when they are attacking a building or structure. They -MUST- be removed after the raid is over.
If there is no Mayor, the highest ranking CP (Swat Chief being highest) may enact laws to keep RP going.
Refusing to enforce the Mayor's laws is considered corrupt.
SWAT may be corrupt, but they cannot kill the mayor.


Mayor Rules

You must have a valid reason to initiate a lockdown (such as if there is a gang war going on).
Mayor cannot place hits.
You must provide laws for the city to follow, or you will be demoted for inactivity.
You cannot make outrageous laws such as discrimination between jobs. You can be demote for this.
It is the Mayor's duty to declare or accept war. Both sides must agree, and at any point either side can admit defeat and end the war.
Although you can be exempt from your own laws, you can still be demoted for breaking preset laws (printers).
You may not limit or restrict the use of chat.



Hitman and Hit Rules

You must have a contract for killing someone.
You may not accept a contract for the same person until 5 minutes have passed.
Your hits must be $1000 or more.
Players may place a hit in the f4 menu with a price and reason.
Players nead to have a valid RP reason for a hit.
You can be wanted for blatantly advertising murder.
As a hitman, you may not pay others to place hits for you.
Hitmen may only raid the people they have hits on



Gun Dealer/Drug Dealer Rules/Black Market Dealer

You cannot become a gun/drug/Black Market dealer to buy only yourself guns/drugs/items.
Dealers cannot raid.
Dealers may not be part of a gang.
As a dealer, it is your job to sell to the public. If you do not sell, you can be demoted.


Hobos/Pets

As a hobo, while you may build outside, you cannot block any streets or doors.
Hobos cannot "rise up" against the government, it just doesn't happen. You're a hobo for crying out loud.
Hobos are homeless, do not buy property as a hobo.
As a hobo, do not build contraptions. Your ability to build is solely for building a home.
Remember you are a hobo and this is rp, hobos do not build mansions.
Although hobos may own weapons, they cannot buy them. (Hobos have no money!)
Pets may own knives (to imitate biting) to protect their owners.
Pets may live in someone's house, but they cannot own property.


Theater

Do not play videos showing nudity of any kind, videos that use racist slurs or videos that show over the top voilence (usually gore).
Failure to follow this rule will result in an instant 3-day ban(or higher if you have previous bans).
Theater Managers and Admins may remove your videos from the queue if they deam them unsuitable for the server.



Faction Rules

CPSTU

Follow all rules stated in the official TNS MOTD, if you are banned for breaking the MOTD you will also be subject to disciplinary actions in the CPSTU.
Do not abuse the weapons you receive. (i.e. dropping your gun then re spawning)
Listen to your superiors, if they tell you to do something DO IT.
Do not abuse your rank, if your a team captain your there to lead your team not have them run your errands.
You are not permitted to be corrupt. No exceptions.
Enforce any laws that the mayor makes, whether you agree with them or not.
You cannot ignore a crime for your own safety.
Protect the mayor to the best of your abilities.
Support your fellow CPSTU members, if they call for backup you should respond to that call.
No killing of other CPSTU members for the fun of it. You can however have knife fights with one another.
Respect needs to be shared amongst all members, and they must respect their superiors.
Act respectable while you are the CPSTU job, "minor" trolling is not permitted.
Any confiscated drugs should be stored in the police tower, preferably locked behind a fading door.

Leviathan

Contracts may only be accepted by the person with the highest rank in the server.
Follow orders from the higher ups without hesitation.
No trolling.
If Leviathan has a base you must base with them (no one man bases). The highest rank on chooses where the base is.
If the person you are hired by is breaking the server rules, it is your duty to protest and make him stop.
If you have to leave the server and have a contract going, either finish the job as soon as possible or pay him back, if you leave, it will be considered as scamming.
No hostages(This does not mean execute them, keep an eye on them until we pull back to base).
You go by the normal server rules.
Just use common sense.
If you are caught breaking any rules while being in the Leviathan class, you will suffer the consequences.
Saying "I didn't read the rules" is NOT an excuse.
No printers are allowed inside the base except super printers. This is to prevent printer explosions which could damage the base and it's defenders
If Leviathan has an armory and/or equipment storage, the highest ranking member is responsible for it(He may assign lower ranked members if this is needed).
The highest ranking member may choose to reveal the code or not.
It is the duty of the person in charge for the storage to insure the storage safety.
You may only break into the weapon storage if it is absolutely necessary. Example: If person in charge is AFK, the base is being raided etc.
Breaking into it simple because you "need a weapon for self defense" is not a valid reason and will result in a demerit
When raiding a compound, lethal force may only be used if the enemy opens fire first.
If you want to randomly raid someplace without a contract, go mafia or gangster.
You are to avoid conflict with police if Lethality is required on an operation.
If taking a contract to assassinate, one member of the squad must be a hitman, and must be the one to kill the target. Other units in the squad are to protect the hitman and return fire to any resistance they encounter.
When protecting a VIP or a Area of Conflict you may search possible threats for weapons only if they are in the Area that is being secured, or by their explicit permission.
When 2 groups of leviathan have contradicting contracts, the employer who pays the most get's the contract. the other group will have to find another place to raid, or give the employer his money back. We do not kill our own men.
